I,m left to clean up

First off let me thank everyone who helped get BABBL up and running but i just recieved an email as did everyone in the league that my " partner Jay Thomas aka MLBJournilist " is not who he says he is ,in fact hes a 16 year old named Chris something .
He was commish of several leagues now and in the past,R2C,TMSL( this is the league we got an email from his mom saying how sick he was.....in the email he explains how he was grounded from his pewter and not sick),and was co-commish with me in BABBL which we launched here a week or 2 ago.
I,m out a few bucks on the deal but i will be fine ,my main reason for posting is to say that im sorry to the guys who had signed up for the league ,Mr.Cooley for some fine logo work,Mr.Graves for a solid banner and to anyone else that helped Jay,Chris ,or what ever his name is in getting the league up and going.
Also SilverNBlack you were so RIGHT when you warned me,but hey life goes on,i just wanted to make sure EVERYONE knows what happened and again my deepest apology to every one involved.

How did you find out who he really was? Did he come clean and admit it? What was his reasoning for the ruse?

He came clean, after three or 4 leagues had been started and dropped, and know i dont think he was doing it just to be a problem......basically his parents would ground him from his comp or something like that,as im sure they werent aware of what was going on or if there actions would involve other people, they just saw it as a way to try and get there KID to perform better at school,etc.....by taking away his pewter.......but really my main concern was just letting everyone know what had happened and trying to make sure it doesnt happen again.

Not your fault

Don't worry Jeff, it isn't your fault.

For what it's worth - I think at least BABBL can be salvaged - with not too much trouble at all.

R2C we pretty much need passwords if we want to salvage it.

Yeh I hear that - we realise that it takes more than we expect to run one of these things - jeff, you're in with me in WTL and saw some of the stuff --- now this for you arrgh. I'm hanging in cos it's a solo thing and if it goes down it will be on my terms....but i think WTL has legs and is stabilizing.
Kudos to allthose commishes (knishes) who put out quality products and keep em running smooth.
Yeh to GMing ....

Jeff- Sorry to hear about the problems. I now know how much time is involved with being a commish (and I didn't even start the league) so I feel your pain.

Get Salt Lake City into the playoffs and you'll feel much better

Good News

We have one of the two leagues - BABBL back to where it can become operational again. Took literally 6 or 7 hours to recover the file needed for BABBL, but one of the other owners was dedicated, and diligent enough, to stick it out and try everything possible to get the rosters back to normal.

Emailed Andreas about online leagues, it's the last step to getting it back up and running.

Fingers crossed, but it looks like BABBL may still get off the ground.

As for the other league R2C - still trying to get that one back up.

Regardless, we had/have an awesome core group of owners, so their may still be good news to come out of the R2C/BABBL problem!

He didn't die in a car crash either. His story about TMSL folding was because of a rare illness he had been diagnosed with. At least he didn't claim to have Lou Gehrig's disease. Despite the bull**** he spun, his leagues were run very well in the short time they lasted, it's a shame they folded. Here's hoping we can get R2C back up and running again.

Everything Mark said is the truth.

He (MLBjournalist) spun some crazy yarns, but the guy ran the leagues really well.

He put in a ton of work, now the rest of us are scrambling to save the work he did. One of the leagues is essentially saved - we hadn't started the season. The other is going to be a real challenge to get it going where we left off (three weeks from the end of the 1st regular season), but it may still happen.

I know who this guy is and his first name isn't Chris. I've been in league that he has attempted to run or been a member. He has numerous times changed his log-in name on this board (I can't prove it, but I know his brand of work). If fact in my football league, in which he was booted, he used a false name to protect him from other OOTP members in the league. He gets these great leagues up that last about a week or two and then splits only to comeback a month later and do the same thing. I had his AOL IM for awhile but he doesn't log in other those (3 IMs I had) anymore. He is a waste of space!

He claimed in the email his name was Corey, not Chris.

Anywho, I just wanna make sure any potential owners for BABBL - which was one of his leagues myself and the LA owner managed to salvage - realize that he's not me and I'm not him!!

IP addresses are logged by this board - so anyone having any doubts just needs to contact one of the mods and ask about the IP addresses of MLBJournalist and me (RayofHope)!

Cheers.

I'm the LA GM from the BABBL, and I've dealt with the original commishes MLB Journalist and LaggTime (Jeff Cobb).

Jeff is really a stand-up guy and I'd love to have in any league I'm in.

What happened to the BABBL should not be counted against him.
