OOTP ahead of the time

We all know that Kate Moss has been around forever, but Facebook ??

Great story, maybe Mr. Barbare will hit a little now that this stuff is out of the way

Thanks for your restraint Wolf.

I'm pretty sure I remember discovering (the last time we had a big discussion about storylines) that there is a flag in the storyline config file that can set a date range for when a specific story should be used. Obviously this story should probably have a flag that limits it to 2004 or later.

Like anything else in OOTP that's a bug, it just needs to be addressed by the right people.

I like the "What the heck . . ." look on Walter's face! A "face book" might have been a manual on Physiognomy back in 1919!

I actually like that storyline, no matter if it's from 1919 or 2013 ...

I like the game to be as close to real as possible as far as players' performances go, but I don't really care if we had Facebook, websites or Kate Moss in 1919 - I enjoy a storyline like this

Nope. I pointedly did not comment.

The number of times this has cropped up indicates that something's wrong with the file. These stories are SUPPOSED to have a date restriction, so that they only appear in "modern era" games. Obviously this story does not have that restriction, and therefore needs to be fixed.

It's a bug, it's not a flaw in the storyline (Wolf).

But at the same time, just by mentioning that you weren't commenting, the unmentioned comment was implied.

Anything that you decide may be implied is on you. That was a "no comment" comment.

There seems to be a bug with the "minimum league year" field in the storyline file not working. I'll post this (and the other thread) in the bug report thread.

I had one with the invention of x-rays in the early 1900s.

Wilhelm Röntgen was credited with discovering them in 1895.

Not only that, but the first recorded use of it for medical imaging was only a few months after he discovered them IIRC.
