Suggestion...concerning news items...it would be nice to always see the team associated with a player. Sometimes you get this paired information, but not always. When you get a news item with only a player name, you have to click on the player's name to find out what team they belong to.

I have done some further testing with a custom game. I have to say that the game is getting very close to being ready for me to do what I want to do (which is to import my fictional league into the game).
One thing that has been a problem is the following: My league plays a five minute OT if tied after regulation (5 on 5) and if the game is still tied it goes down as a draw. I noticed that there were very few draws so I looked at the boxscore of a few tie games. Each game had a 20 minute instead of a 5 minute OT. I thought I had set this up correctly but continued to sim until July so that I could check the values. Sure enough OT was set for 20 minutes. I changed it to 5 and hit SAVE and noticed it go right back to 20 minutes. The Minor league was the same thing. This looks like a bug. Another thing that bothered me: two teams tied at the end of the regular season for the division lead at 91 pts. Team1 was 44-27-3, Team2 was 45-26-1. Team 1 was declared division champ. As far as I know (in the NHL at least) the first tie-breaker is wins which would have made Team2 the division champ. Can someone tell what the game uses to break ties? One other point. I noticed a player that was a third round draft pick with a status of "Signing Not Possible". What does that mean? Thanks for reading! |

Is it just me, or are there less options on Commissionar mode in this patch than previous?
I can't find where to change the league structure anymore, nor where I saw the "League Expansion Wizard" button (even though it was non-functional) |

League Structure change is still there. I don't recall ever seeing an league expansion wizard for FHM at anytime.

Yes it is working. But in Commish mode when I changed it to be a bit higher it doesn't. It reverts back to standard cap. And once you start the play EDIT settings disappears. I see no difference in the playability. I play in COMMISH GM not coaching and it seems to be limited.

Two questions yet too be answered for the first version:
Will Custom Leagues be playable along side all the other leagues or will they be in their own world? Will a schedule generator or at least a full league schedule be available? One of the first thing's I do when I start a league is check the schedule especially the last few days but too do that now I need to hit the Finish Tab for 6 months(Oct thru March). Plus it would be nice to know when the season starts without going through each team's schedule to figure it out. |

My quick test of the game's stability
Hello--
I decided to do a quick test of the game's overall stability. Basically, I wanted to see how many years I could sim before the game crashed on me and was no longer playable. Couple of side notes: I used the latest patch, BUT, I did not start a new game. I used a SAVED game that I had with a start date of August 1, 2013. The only changes that I made to the database was that I renamed some team names in the NHL, ECHL and WHL. Also, I created a Super Mario/Gretzky player just for kicks--wanted to see what kind of stats the player would generate. I found that if I simmed the game with me being employed (my assistant runs everything), I could only sim up to the 2016 season before it would crash--and I was unable to sim past September 2, 2016. I got better results if I simmed unemployed--I was able to sim to August 16, 2018. But I was never able to sim past August 16. I need to see if starting a brand new game would yield better results. |

Ratings and contracts
I have played in "Allsvenskan" (swedish second league) and I have encounted a couple of things.
1. I can´t see all the ratings for my player in the roster, only position rating. 2. I can contract highly skilled player with a salary of 60000 a year. They say they are not intrested in further negotiations but when I submit an offer they always accept. Sorry if my english and grammar are not correct. |

This patch is a step forward, but I'll still be waiting for the future updates until this game is in 'playable' state for me. I've simulated up to 2025 without any problems, until there wasn't enough quality players to keep the salary cap above the floor. There was a few players with a rating of 9, but most teams only have players with a rating of 6. I cannot continue this save, because I'm unable to get above the salary floor (I'm 10 million under because lack of quality players)
As I also mentioned in the previous post, some teams sign their top prospects for a 5 year deal only worth 800k a year. What I also found strange was that that most teams dump their prospects after a few seasons, even if they have a potential of 10. I think the chance for a prospect to 'bust' should be lowered. At the moment custom leagues only work along side all other leagues playable - except the NHL and the AHL that is. Basically, every custom league you set up replaces the NHL (and your minor league replaces the AHL) and it doesn't even matter if your league is set in Mali, Vietnam or the USA.

How about Trading between NHL and Custom Leagues?
Yes League Structure is still their but can only rename Teams at the moment.

So I tried the new beta, good god what the hell happened there? Wasnt it supposed to be an upgrade? Werent things supposed to he fixed?
1. Trades are completly messed up. I would offer a trade to team a and complete the trade. I wait a few days to get an answer and I do but when a option is given to complete the trade the button on the bottom is greyed out. And this happens for every trade I make. This never happen in the old build. 2. The trade system logic in the game does not make any sense like the leafs trading Bernier for a 5th round pick??? 3. When playing the game ingame lineup if you try to increase/decrease the minutes of lines it skips to the opponent team and this continues anytime you try to change minutes played. 4. The simulation is still very slow in the game. 5. You still cannot scratch/unscratch players in your Ahl team if you are using an NHL team. There should be an option for this. 6. I give up with this frustrating game I WANT A REFUND!!!! |

Wow, I don't see a single change in that whole list that makes me want to download the patch and play the game. There are so many game breaking features either failing on 1.0.3 and still not addressed according to the list or not even in the game period.
1. Scouting. Why in blue hell is there no ability to scout anyone? How can you conduct drafts without having an idea if a player is actually decent or not unless they play in OHL? 2. Contracts- Players with no NHL experience that having been playing in minors and their entry level contracts are up should not be demanding 5m/yr otherwise they "refuse to negotiate" and sign in the KHL.... Same goes for plug 4th liner UFAs like Frazer McLaren for example who demands 2.7m/yr. Further to this, you should be able to have SOME ability to negotiate with players to bring the price down. Maybe not at all of them, but SOME would be nice. Instead, you can't even get them down 200k a year... 3. Player Filter- This is a big one for me. As in EHM, as in football manager, as in OOTP for god sake, there HAS to be a way to search out players according to certain criteria that you select. I am sick and tired, already, of manually clicking on every team just to find a certain kind of player. And no, I am not talking about the stupid player SEARCH magnifying glass, I am talking about a filtering system. 4. Speed- The speed of the menus, specifically in the offseason/FA center is boorishly slow and time consuming. 5. It's a finished product, but there's still no implementation of a player editing feature in commish mode like OOTP, nor can you edit the salary cap. |
