a heart breaking no hitter
Not many times one can leave feeling sad from a no hitter but when you face your last man and hit him with a pitch to break the perfect game, that is definitely the case....
Still a no-no for Matt Harvey and the Yankees (My first ever)

Wait, when you say "faced his last man", do you mean he hit the last batter or the 27th batter to break up the perfect game. If so that does not appear to be the case because Encarnacion is the batter that was hit and he would not have been the 27th batter?... Maybe I am reading your post wrong.
Anyhow I have been playing OOTP since version 3 and still have never thrown a no hitter while playing out a game. I generally play 1 out of 6 games for the team I control. I have had simmed no hitters though. By the way I hope it doesn't seem like I was raining on your parade, I was just curious.

Yes, a definite scoring bug, as M. Izturius was also charged with an AB. A HBP is not an official AB.

Technically Izturis was the last hitter to have a perfect game, that's what I meant. Is there a way? Last edited by X3NEIZE; 10-01-2013 at 12:17 PM. |

GSC doesn't work that way. It's a formula (non-OOTP; it was actually created by Bill James) and a no-no or perfect game doesn't guarantee a 100. If I'm not mistaken, 100 isn't even the maximum, because strikeouts are also factored in.
EDIT: The maximum GSC possible is 114. After using the formula myself, it looks like the gamescore should be 95 and not 96, because the HBP should have cost him a point, per the formula. For the record, the highest GSC ever recorded was 105, by Kerry Wood in his 20-strikeout game in 1998. EDIT 2: I should note that the 114 is the maximum for a 9-inning game. It could conceivably go higher if the starter pitches into extra innings in a 0-0 game. Last edited by slugga27; 10-01-2013 at 01:07 PM. |

![]() EDIT: Nevermind. I see oldtimey edited out the part in his post about Reyes hitting into a double play. I hate when people do that instead of acknowledging a mistake in a post. Last edited by BIG17EASY; 10-01-2013 at 01:11 PM. |

Ouch, that one sucks.
But I don't think you've experienced a truly heart-breaking no-hitter unless you also lost the game. That one happened to me a few years back. Pitcher threw a no-hitter and still got the loss, 1-0. |

The closest one I ever had was this year. 2 outs away, and I get rocked for 10 runs.

Check the game log to see if the inconsistencies can be figured out.

But the above poster is right. Check the game log. Izturis had to be charged with an AB for something that made since to the programming that produces the box score. |
