If referring to Ø - I haven't come across it yet.

To replace the font, drop your desired font file (.tff or .otf) into:

\tbcb2013\custom_skin\fonts and Program Files\tbcb2013\data\fonts

Open up fonts.cfg file and edit relevant section, here it would be, 3 Headings.

For code I mentioned see below. [This Windows 8 is driving me up the wall. Can't find anything without hunting everywhere. I'll try again. Managed to get the game going again on my old Vista laptop by copying files from the new laptop. Wasted hours monkeying around to change the font in a game.

Should be easy.

Now, with the font-related instructions you offered, do I have to do the packskin thing? If so, at what point do I change the fonts, before or during said operation? As I said, my Windows 8 laptop completely ignored the colour change operation I tried twice yesterday.

I would add the fonts before packing the skin into game.

Never used/looked at Windows 8 sorry, of no use to you there.

I decided to use an existing font. Chose BabelSans.ttf as it was already in the Programs/tb2013/fonts folder. Copied it to the custom_skin/fonts folder. Deleted Origicide.ttf and typed in BabelSans.ttf. Saved and exited. Ran the game. No change. Went back and deleted Origicide from the Programs/tb2013/fonts folder. Ran the game and the font and words using it were gone. So I put it back in.

I must be missing something. Was I supposed to do the --packskin operation to change the font? If so, at what point in this op was I supposed to change the fonts around?

Have you noticed that the more "improvements" they make to technology, the less user-friendly things become?

I put my font for use across the board, if I remember I had a similar problem but that solved it.

What do you mean exactly? Did you use a different font already in the game or import one? When you said earlier to edit relevant section in fonts.cfg, how did you mean? Did you just type over using Notepad or did you copy and paste something....?

When I open the stylesets.ss with Notepad I notice that #FF5980b8 isn't exactly the way it looks. See the image I included before. It seems to be written in some sort of coding font(?). Would that make a difference?

It sure would be nice if Paul just conceded and replaced the @$#%! font with the next update/patch/build.

Here's the original context of the fonts.cfg

Lower of upper case difference? Wouldn't of thought that made a difference.

I just ran through it myself and got it working okay. I'll go step-by-step how I did it, maybe get you fixed.

Step 1:

Go here, Documents\tbcb2013\custom_skin\fonts and delete all fonts.

Step 2:

Still in same folder, paste BabelSans.ttf.

Step 3:

Open fonts.cfg, copy and paste below into notepad overwriting existing:

1 Big Headings
BabelSans.ttf
2 Buttons
BabelSans.ttf
3 Headings
BabelSans.ttf
4 Main Text
BabelSans.ttf
5 Training Frame
BabelSans.ttf

Step 4:

Go here, Program Files\tbcb2013\data\fonts, and paste BabelSans.ttf.

Step 5:

--packskin into game.

Step 6:

Select skin in game.

OK. I tried it again with my old laptop and finally managed to get the font changed and the font colour changed. Here's where it gets weird. The Gym Lobby screen has reverted back to 1.1! No First Aid kit on top of the lockers, the UFC Fight Card poster, etc. The game says it's Release 1.2 so cue the Twilight Zone theme and isn't that Rod Serling over there talking to the back of my head????

How about this as an alternate Skin for the Rankings Screen for the future version of Title Bout? Kind of gives greater significance to making the Top Ten. Just a rough draft, but I'm sure Paul could figure this out.....

As I look at it again, you could eliminate the word "Champ", make the Rank column smaller to give more space for names.....

Infinity suggested having a place somewhere we oldsters could download skins created by craftsmen like Bob Bask. Problem is there only seems to be one Bob Bask. Even he might have trouble putting my alternate Rankings skin into the game.
