WOW - Pitching Mound Lowered!

I just got done playing my 2nd season with the St. Louis Cardinals. Just after the world series, the League News is:

MLB BREAKING NEWS: Mound Lowered, Offense Expected
League officials have just announced that the maximum height of the pitching mound has been reduced. This will likely result in an increased offense, making the game more attractive to fans. Last year, players hit just a combined .258 in the Major Leagues.

Has anyone else seen this???

Yep, it's part of the auto-evolution. You can have it checked on or off. Personally, I like to care of these things myself so I keep it off. If that is on, that means you likely have all of them on which means things such as the schedule could change or a team may relocate.

It happened in about the 10th season of our online league, ERAs went up a bit and BA up a little, but nothing too drastic overall

I have seen it and I was afraid it would be a dramatic change. It wasn't.

I got another rule change later in the same offseason. MLB extended the arbitration eligible length to 4 years, to allow more roster flexibility.

I hope the players union goes on strike!

You know my thoughts on league evolution, but raising or lowering offensive levels are an exception. Those are the only two I even consider keeping on.
