Declining Quality for Amateur FAs

By the year 2020, the international amateur free agent pool has dried up. When starting a dynasty, there are usually about five or six players whose overall ratings are 70 and above. Five years in, however, the quality declines sharply, and overall ratings don't go higher than 50.

I don't have the latest patch. Is this a version-specific bug, or is this a feature?

Change your scout recently? Depending on what your scout prefers can change how he evaluates the ceilings of players in a draft pool.

When you get too many highly rated players in your universe, the ratings of players and prospects will go down, since they're rated against the rest of the league, not in a vacuum. Guessing that's the case here. Likely the players are actually rated the same as ever, but the overall 20-80 or star ratings will look lower since you have more overall talent in your league.

It's really not a game ruiner. Your game will be just fine. Nothing's actually changed, except you may have a little too much talent in your league.

Thanks! I failed to realize that the overall ratings are relative. As it turns out, I compared prospects from a 2013 int'l FA draft to a 2020 draft, and the skill ratings are basically the same.
