How is you fantasy team doing?

1-0 for me. Victor Cruz had a big week for me. Could have had more points if I started Eli over Andy Dalton. But I went with the ginger and still won.

How bout you guys?

I did that last year, it was fun but I missed it. It gives me a reason to not just watch the Cowboys/Texans, and I watch more games.

Yes, I agree that I probably watched more games last year.

However, I find more time for myself and to do things that I actually enjoy doing. I mean, who cares about Jacksonville vs. Oakland? What a dreadful game to watch, but if I'm playing FF and I have McFadden, I feel obligated to watch/follow that game. How painful that would be!

I wanted to watch the Pats/Jets game so bad, I bought the nfl network package last night

I don't care for either team much and don't have any players on their squads in fantasy. So I have no idea why I wanted to see it so badly. Turned out to be a disgusting game to watch. Dropped passes ALL DAY LONG.

Well I was trailing by 1 point yesterday, as the Giants got the ball back at the end of the game. I have Eli Manning and Victor Cruz, so I thought it was gonna be an easy win for me. Alas, Eli tosses another interception and I lose by 3. Woe is me.

Same as I do every year. Either score the most points and win, or score the second most points and play the one team that week who could have beat me.

One of the many reasons I quit. I scored the 2nd most points in the league but barely finished .500 and then ended up scoring the second fewest points all season in the first round of the playoffs.

Such a crapshoot, in my opinion.

Another reason was that I just don't have the time to spend at the start of the season figuring out draft only to end up having to make a major change because of an injury in week one to someone that had never been injured before.

Too much luck involved.

Anyone who says it is skill, is dead wrong. It is all luck. Right now, I have the second most points in the league. Scored the most in week 1 and second most in week 2. Yet I am 1-1 because I played the person who scored the most this week. There is a person who is 2-0, scored the second fewest points both weeks, but played the 1 person who scored the least amount. He is bragging about how awesome he is, but if he played me both weeks he would have lost badly both times.

Sounds like you need to play a points league instead of a H2H.

I'm 2-0 in two of my leagues. One is a free league and the other is a $10 league. I'm pretty happy with my team in the $10 league. I just wish David Wilson would pull his head out of his ass.

There is some skill. My brother told me its 30% skill/70% luck. I'd say thats about right. The skill involved I guess is just doing research and being able to draft guys with an upside that no one has heard of or picking up a guy off waivers before he blows up. I've found that in IDP leagues the balance shifts a little more towards skill just because if you don't have a strong defense then it doesn't matter how good your offense is.

League i've commished for the last 5 years we start DT, DE, DE, LB, LB, LB, CB, CB, S, S. Definitely makes you watch football more and learn players on both sides of the ball. Like the guy that picked up Justin Houston after he went undrafted at the end of August and he had a 32 point game against Philly. I'd say the knowing who he was and snagging him as an undrafted player and figuring he'll score 7-10 points a week is the skill portion. The luck would be the insane amount of points he put up in the game on Thursday.

Doing TERRIBLE this year. Started 0-3 and really have no hope in sight. Gambled on Ridley and Mathews and lost.

I drafted Mathews last year. There's no way I'll ever make that mistake again.
