Need help signing players

I read the instructions, but when I open the player screen and select actions, I cannot find any way to offer a contract extension to a player. Can someone help a computer idiot so he can enjoy his OOTP experience? Thanks!

Just right-click on a player and one of the options will be "Offer Extension".

Also, the player generally has to be in the last year of his current contract. I say "generally" because the online manual puts it this way:

Most players prefer to negotiate extensions only in the final year of their current contracts. However, this is not necessarily always the case.
