The expansion and relocation aren't quite the same thing - those are dynamic, meaning the game can and will expand and move teams all on its own. Personally, I don't like playing with league evolution turned on, as I find that the changes the game makes are not always realistic ("Wait, the Yankees moved to Reno?")
Ahh so league evolution kind of evolves on its own then in terms of growth and relocation? Hmmm sweet, I guess. Maybe cool for fictional leagues.

Cool thanks guys!!!

So my understanding is in the league settings I want to turn of league evolution for my MLB save... Even though I'm controlling/playing as one team if like to handle all relocations, expansions, and name and logo updates.

That's also good when editing a team name it doesn't change prior years naming. That's what I wanted as it's more true to what I'm trying to do!

And speaking of that I'm playing as the New York Mets... All I started up a regular 2013 season with opening day rosters... Anyways the game edits abreviations for they NYY AND NYM as NYA and NYB... So I fixed it... But it has something called like "historical abbreviation" ... That was labeled as NYN... What's that? I changed that to be NYM but it only updated the current season... Is there a way to edit it and change it for all years? ... This part is kind of like an option b from my previous post. I really hope this made sense lol!

IIRC, the historical abbreviations are there to support automatic import and assignment of players in historical leagues - it has no effect on leagues that don't import players from the database, such as the 2013 QuickStart or fictional leagues.
