You should be careful here: I remember very well that around the first slated release time (Q4 2012) it was suddenly announced that there will be no game. There was no heads up there. Then I vividly remember that many times users asked questions if there was any news, because we hadn't heard from Sebastian or Jeff for weeks. And I think so far I haven't read anywhere from Jeff or Sebastian when they expect to have put together an enjoyable game. They know that they have dug themselves a hole. That much is obvious.

btw: I thought of writing a bit about the FHM homepage, but I'll leave that for now...

This thread needs a close. Pens66 you need to contact the PR team for OOTP cause youre just trolling.

Jeff wasn't even apart of the team until I think the week before the Beta, and nobody has ever said its going to be bug free, anyone who played the beta could see there was a lot of work needed.

As for right now have you thought that maybe theyre sleeping after a long day work. Especially Sebastien. Even Jeff has been at it since the wee hours of the morning.

at the risk of being attacked ill say im contemplating a refund and ill even explain why

for a management sim the management for games is seriously lacking, lack of tactics is a real killer for me and also the gameday seems very dated considering how other games are, not just football manager which is an unfair comparison but ehm which is about 6 years old and even an nfl game i found from developers smaller than this team

the price, 30$+ was very steep for the finished product. for all those saying yes its a small team, they were not shy about charging established prices. the lack of demo will have pushed a lot of people into taking the plunge and im willing to bet a fair few people have already stopped playing but are too shy to ask for a refund

I think anyone who asks would be more than in their rights to have a refund, what people get defensive about is how you go about doing it. There are a good 10 threads that direct you on how to do it. It doesn't need to be a specticle every time. Not that this was by any means, and I fully agree a demo would have gone a long way to helping some of these concerns.

If you never give anything a chance, then of course it will fail. If you like hockey sims, then let them know about the problems and they will have a chance to fix them. If not, then we may not have another hockey sim ever, if people immediately give up.

And Pens 66, JeffR from what I have seen as been quite fair and informative to most, even in spite of rude comments from others.

This game has bugs, and we can debate the 1st version release strategy all day (personally historic and custom or one could have waited) but a thread like this does not bring anything positive to the software now or in the future. Not to mention nearly all of these bugs will be gone once online play is released (if you're into that). AI is always a question mark whether it be a 1 man development team who does it on the side or a million dollar company like EA. It is just going to take some time.

I agree a price point of 29.99 is likely a better deal and I don't think it will be long before that sale takes effect. That being said. A thread like this with this title deserves to be flamed til the sun goes down, especially today.

Too many people have been waiting too long for a new hockey sim to be released. If you look at the hockey Sim industry or lack there of this game is on point (see Simon T or Faceoff Hockey). This is a troll thread is what it is, you can at least wait a couple days and maybe the excitment will have cooled down and you can get somewhere useful with your complaint, but if you post like this when half the people are thrilled at potential and others are disappointed your bound to see a clash.

If you want to support the game support it, if you want your money back do it a more respectable approach. There is no room for threads like this, look around find an email address and talk to the company.
Every thread does not need to be positive about the game.if you cant take criticism then you shouldent be in this business to beggin with.and criticism can be positive and improve just getting thrown glory your way wont help at all.just because many have waited for a hockey sim doesent make it okey to release it in its current state not for this company or any other company for that matter.i never defended the way he wrote and never will it still doesent change the fact that he has a point and he is entiteld to be angry

i get what you mean and this really wasnt a toys out the pram i want a refund or im telling my mum type of thing, ive no doubt that if anyone asks they get it. im still holding on to give the game more chance.
but if my post nudges the team into releasing a demo maybe 3 weeks before release instead of taking the beta route then its a good thing for us and for them assuming they dont want refund requests

This is not about trolling. My point is that there will be tons of new people who come in here expecting something they can play. They can't. It's that simple. I know the game and I don't even care at this point. I waited six years (I think?) for this new chance and I can wait three more months. But these new guys will complain and all a lot of the veteran members here say is "relax, it's early, be patient".
Lots of people are actually praising the devs for this release, whereas they bloody know that this release build maybe has advanced 2,3% from the mess that was called the beta 69 build (or whatever) three days ago. I honestly don't know what to say anymore.

In what aspect of life has negative criticism helped ever? If the point of the thread is to complain that is just pointless not going to get you anywhere. Either support it or ask for a refund. This has been a game that has had bugs for a while and there was no way they would possibly be fixed by today. You could do a simple read and know what you were getting.

Oh and the least people can do is keep it to one thread

As mentioned I think a demo would go a long way, or some basic research. For the people complaining about a waste of money, you'd think you would look into something before dropping $40 on it.

The devs had a drop dead release date. That was not their decision, I'm sure. They've been active on the forums and fixing bugs people bring up. There will be updates and the problems will be fixed.

This is our chance to get a brand new hockey sim, with regular updates every year if it succeeds. It's day 1 of the full release. Give the devs a chance to fix the bugs. If you have any interest in hockey sims (and if you're posting here, you do), please be patient and let the devs know what issues come up.

criticism can help improve work by a whole lot getting praised every day for everything you do wont ever improve anything more then you get to comfortable in your seat.and this either support it or dont statment is dumb if you have that for everything you do you will support way more products that are usless then will ever do anything good for the industry.i wont ask for a refund at all but if this doesent improve fast in the updates i wont support the next version that comes or any future ones.and not everyone goes through the forums before they buy so they know what they get you have done it everyone has bought something they thought was good but ended up being crap and thats how a new buyer will see this product if they just buy today witch is sad

Positive criticism yes.... Give them something to improve on.

You ever coach a kid in hockey and say hey youre dog **** you better get better! Thats not going to work, go to the bug thread and list what needs to be fixed.

They know what needs to be fixed its been reported for months and months through the BETA process. Do people just not understand that. That is why people are disappointed.

RFA's still go UFA as far as I know, as well as waivers are still not in affect.

depends
are you coaching a 5 year old or a professional

a pro can handle critisism and do something with it
because they want to be champions
if you dont point out what's wrong, it wont change
and they wind up in last place

besides most of the big issues in this game were pointed out on these boards in January, but nothing was ever addressed
the glaring ommissions of January are the same ones now
