Guidry's rookie season was a 24 year old IRL in 1975. However, for purposes of Gambo/Spritze's neutralized stats, his first year was 1971, when his age was 20. |

For the purposes of Garlon/Spritze, it is 1975.

Now I'm really confused.
If his debut date is 1975, for their purposes, then what's the point of him having neutralized stats covering 1971-74? I thought the purpose of using Gambo/Spritze was because players would debut at a younger age, with stats that would approximate a minor league version of them and then they could develop or turn into busts before they reached the majors. So, in Guidry's case, when his in his first year in OOTP, how does the game know to start using his 1975 stats if 1971-74 are there in the database too? Take a look at the master.csv file for the Gambo/Sprtize database. There are no column headers, but, for some columns, it's easy to figure out what that column is for. Column Z has the first year that everyone has a stat line for. For Guidry, it says 1971. Right next to that, in column AA, it says 1988, which any Guidry lover can tell you that was his last year in the majors. So, Columns Z and AA are obviously his career timespan. So, that shows that the database is considering his career to start in 1971. Furthermore, if you look at every column in Guidry's line, the number 1975 never appears anywhere. |

Spritze's database is an edit of the Lahman major league database. It adds a players minor, foreign, negro league, etc. years to his stats. It also debuts a player upon his HS graduation rather than his pro debut. So most players start at 18 unless they started sooner than that IRL. They also play until age 36ish unless they played longer than that IRL. Their "extra" years are based on their stats accumulated during those years. Nearly all the missing years in the Lahman database weren't really missing. The player merely played elsewhere than the major leagues. For instance the player I am currently researching played from 1897-1902 per Lahman but he really played 1897-1914. That is a big difference.

It sounds like the Spritzke database is the one that best fits my needs. But, at Databases | OOTPMODS.COM, I only see Gambo/Spritzke offered. I don't see a separate OOTP version of Spritzke. Is that available anywhere?
