Standings Leaders Sept 15th
Some amazing years but I can't help but notice the insane amount of dominance on the mound now. Seems to be the time of the pitcher. Hall, Webb, Bright, Oswalt, Morgan, Figueroa's resurgence as well as Esparza. Big time aces, big time arms putting up huge years.
Amazing, but not surprising, to see Luis Chavez having what could be almost a 'career year' at 36, and considering the hall of fame career he's already had. Check out Woolridge in the CL, traded at the break, and going to lead the CL in HR's and RBI's. Stunned to see San Jose that bad with that much firepower on offense. So we'll grab the 1 seed and the 1st round bye. Chicago will likely take the 2. Las Vegas and Houston fighting for the top seed in the CL. Michigan fans are chomping at the bit, but it's likely if they did find a way to sneak in, it would be a 1st round matchup with Chicago! The Empire looks like it could be the first division to send a sub .500 winner to the post season.

6 games to go
Really only one division race to speak of, with Staten Island and Buffalo dueling in a win or go home for one of them. West Michigan and New Hampshire are both in which means Dayton likely grabs the 7 seed and Chicago in round 1.
Pittsburgh, Philly, Sacramento are all on the verge of being eliminated in their division, but all 3 are battling for the 2 remaining wild card spots, with New Orleans and Tulsa on the outside looking in. A real tight HR race in the FL, and Woolridge and Welch going at it in the CL. Oswalt, Webb and Morgan a good or bad start away from rearranging the CL ERA race. The Koufax voting is going to be something to behold between those three.

Sept 27th
Check it out. The FL HR race, Swagat grabs a big lead again in the race for the batting title. The ERA chase in the CL has taken a turn with Webb tossing a gem (5-hit shutout over the Colts) to bring him into a tie with Oswalt. Ikarashi threatening the single season saves record.
Providence 2-hit West Michigan today, hurting their bid to win the division but also pulling them (Black Sox) within a single game of Dayton with 3 to play.

2029 final standings leaders
Pete Merritt wasn't signed until May 21st this year, and has, year after year, had to work to find a job. His health is clearly a concern but when he's on the field he flat out rakes. A career .330/.400/.488 lifetime hitter in 1063 games. Swagat wins his 2nd batting title in 4 seasons.

My guess is Miguel Cabrera is lined up for an MVP. I think the complete lack of Alaska players from this board is more because of the platoon situations I have going, which I don't really like as I like to stick with specific guys, but they did hit well in that situation all year. Jorge Viera is turning himself into a superstar.
Stan Hall better walk home with the hardware this year. Flat out dominated, and misses the pitching triple crown by 1 win. While I am elated at retaining Casas, I still think it's far too much money to pay a closer. Having said that he had a hell of a year. Stover should be in line for another gold glove. Holland was outstanding at 3B, Hawkins in CF and Morton and Covington helped me to the leagues top defense.

Pedro Lopez leads the CL in hits at 220. He's one of the players I dealt to Houston to acquire RJ. Merritt is a former Alaska player as well. Welch, Manny and Woolridge are my top 3 Aaron Award winners. Not sure what order.
Brandon Webb, had he not started 0-3 9.27 in his first 4 starts, no telling what he'd have done. Still had a monster year, setting a new record for WAR in a season. I thought Andy Morgan was a lock to win the Koufax, but after going 19-1, he lost 4 straight. 2 no decisions in his final 2 starts didn't help as he pitched well. The kid in Dallas, Vasario, is a monster talent on both sides of the ball. Likely winning a gold glove and hitting .296/.347/.469 with 39 doubles 10 triples and 19 home runs with 27 stolen bases and scoring 121 runs.

Wild card match ups
10 of the 14 teams have not won a world series yet.
I will get the winner of Staten Island/West Michigan. Both teams present unique problems, but Staten Islands offense is something to be concerned with. The Roughriders back, and it's been awhile. They would be the 2nd team to ever win more than 2 titles if they were to pull it off.

2029 WC GAME 1s
Providence grabs 2 in the 9th and it looked like a huge game 1 upset, but it was not to be. I have this feeling no matter how this goes, for me to get to a world series I will have to play, and beat, Chicago.
Simons and Oswalt dealt, big wins. Home/Road split 3-3.

Carlos Vargas insures we get the White Caps next round. SS Jud Lambert took home MVP honors, hitting .423-0-4 in 26 at bats with a .500 OBP.
