Mapping retrosheet codes in asyncronous ballparks
So reading through retrosheet and noticed these codes that look like the stuff you'd see in game logs for OOTP. For those wondering what I'm refering too, here's a link
Retrosheet Hit Location Diagram My question for anyone that might know, is while this works for a standard sized ballpark (the example look an awful lot like old Tiger stadium), what about ones that dont' fit such a mold? Something like Baker Bowl with the right short right field, or Fenway with it's zigzag outfield, or Braves Field with it's ginormous outfield? Is there a process that adds and subtracts sections to fit such parks, or is it approximated as best as possible to fit?

My understanding of that grid as it's intended to be used is that you overlay the ballpark dimensions on top of it. Very small ballparks will have no D or XD sections. Larger ballparks will have the D and XD sections extended to the walls (or the next 50' arc for D sections).

Haven't messed with that stuff in a while, but I'm sure you could probably find a map for Fenway somewhere.....nobody's scoring any games in the Baker Bowl anymore, so there probably has not been an effort to make one for it.....
