Idea for sim sports website...

Hello everyone, I have been away from this forum for about a year and out of leagues for about the same because I had to get through my freshman year of college so I am not sure if a website like this or similar to this is in existence. If so, let me know about it. If not, here is my idea.

I think it would be nice to have one central website to go to for information about online sports leagues. I am planning and designing one now that would have features like Hall of Fame, Records, Top Owners, a newsletter, etc, etc, etc...

Right now, I am planning on having coverage for baseball, football and basketball leagues (to go along with .400 SS lineup of games).

It could also have a list of GMs reported to be poor league members or deadbeat owners, so league commissioners could have a place to check on their applicants.

I have more in-depth plans in my head I just wanted to throw the idea out there and see what you guys think. If it would be a popular site that could be of some interest and some use, then I will proceed with the design and planning.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions/ideas for the site, or anything you think should be included, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks.

Thanks, and true, it doesn't look updated.

But also, I doesn't seem to be exactly what I am planing. That website seems to be just a place to list URLs for online leagues.

I want to do more of a stats, accomplishment sort of website so we can all recognize the top owners, leagues, etc in the online sim sports world.

Suggestions welcome

This would be very cool, i would be able to send out invites for the most active leagues to join my next world cup tournament.

Yeah, I think it would be nice to have a central place like this to go. Sort of a place for the top guys to be recognized over the entire sim league community instead of just in their own leagues.

We all do this for the fun and the competition, and it would just be nice to recognize those people that are really putting their time and effort into it.

I would like to do write-ups, newsletters, etc as well so when I get everything set-up and running, I will probably be trying to get some help in that department.

Yeah man if you want to actually report on the activity of leagues and the advantages of each I think thats the best idea I've heard on this board... it provides a great opportunity to present the league I participate in.

Hopefully you know someone who can design a page and you have the time to maintain.

This is an outstanding idea. I'm not sure how feasable it would be for one man to keep up with all the happenings, though. There has to be, literally, thousands of OOTP leagues. Combine those with the new leagues that will form for the other games and you're talking about a huge undertaking.

I really hope it happens. But, it's probably something .400 needs to set up and maintain. But if you're able to make it happen, it would certainy be an oft visited site. Good luck.

bacon if you try to flame this league one more time, I'll be emailing Steve Kuffrey directly about your abuse of this forum and this thread... there is no need to insult or try to influence the decision making of potential general managers, and as such your account should be either disabled or your posts removed...

this is your 2nd time, and further flame after appologizing , which makes you a hypocrite and doing nothing to promote the OOTP Online Forum in general... atleast we are providing the forum another platform for leagues that has never been experienced.. and this is innovative...

Please also direct yourself his continuous attempts in other forum posts:

http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...5&pagenumber=3

This is uncalled and extending the boundries of what a person is allowed to do on this forum.

TotalProFootball.net is already up and running and could be used for this as well as the addons and such for TPF. We'll also host 5-7 leagues on the site.

I'm working now on a new and improved OOTPLinks.com that will be much like TPF.net and should handle the OOTP side of things. All you guys have to do is register and start posting new/happenings on the sites.

You've said just as much and I am honestly just warning people. Comments about family and other instances in private message are my motivation. It isn't some kind of "smear" campaign against YOU by any means. I post a lot and I feel I help people on here. Freedom of speech.

Are you kidding me? Steve Kuffrey can check my private messages because there is no record of it to you, so once again you're now trying to slander me as a person....

About total nirvana, I said that but I also posted his webpage to promote the venture hes doing.

I've had about enough, do something about this kid, NOW.

I agree it would be a big project. I will be designing the webpage and maintaining it.

There is still a good but more planning to do on my part, but I just wanted to see what kind of interest this idea would generate.

Looks positive, so I will proceed. Look for updates soon.

As I stated in another thread, I'll be doing something along these lines, creating an ESPN-esque site for different leagues in different sports. My idea is different in that I'll probably only have one league per sport, to create an e-sports world, and the commissioners of those leagues will be updating that site.

There's much more to go into it...and it won't be done until December/January, when the other .400 games come out. But, I'm glad threads like these are being done, because it shows interest in a project like the one I'm going to be doing.

The AFA is built for just that reason--to be the football league in the universe containing the ABA.

I think it will be good to have sites like these. With all the work and time we put into these leagues, I think the best of the best deserve some widespread recognition.
