I take little to no stock in the stats really. My decisions are made solely on current/potential ratings, what my team needs (maybe a power bat bench player, etc), and super two status.

So you'll take a 3 star ovr/pot hitter batting .132 in 53 AB's over a 1 star ovr/pot hitting .337 in 87 AB's? granted the .337 may be a fluke but the .337 guy is having a better season.

I also may leave a higher rated guy of the roster if I have a bigger need. For example I like to have a good fielding utility middle infielder and a power threat on the bench. I also may yield a spot to a development project if I think he's ready even though his ratings might be a bit below. But I will almost never put any stock into ST stats.
