Fictional National Colored Baseball League (NCBL) Quickstart
Here is a description of my Fictional National Colored Baseball League (NCBL) Quickstart...
1920 start with an NNL and ECL leagues with 2 divisions each, with a Southern Negro League (SNL) with 2 divisions as a AAA non affiliated... A Negro Independent League (NIL) as a separate Ind. League with 2 divisions with a Texas Negro League as a AA non affiliated... Financials on, no Foreigners, Modified world dat for one country USA, african only ethnic, names made up from questdogs and negro league names by unknown, mostly modified CW's negro logos, some cephasjames logos modified, added some of my own, mostly no peppers unis and caps with a few of my own, various park photos added, vintage graphics added but modified... If I failed to mention anyone's work I included in this quickstart I apologize, it was not intentionally omitted... It is now on the OOTPMODS.com site under Templates... Enjoy... |

Can you share your ballpark pictures?
Hi - I went to play your 1920 Negro League QS (great concept, btw) and when I went to play out the first game, realized that there are no ballpark images in the QS. You've named all of the parks and linked pictures (as is clear from the file names), but the images aren't there. I'd love to see the pics you used. Thanks.

I just downloaded this from OOTPMODS.com and installed it in OOTP12 and started a new game... All of the ballpark photos show up in my new game, but the coordinates are incorrect...
So here are the correct coordinates , use the same coordinates for all of the parks... Instructions on how to enter and assign new coordinates to the parks... 1. Go to game setup, click edit ballparks 2. Select one of the ballparks to edit, click on the picture & coordinates tab 3. Manually enter the coordinates, be sure to hit enter after each entry or they won't take... As you enter each coordinate the different positions will relocate on the park photo on the right side of the game screen 4. After you have entered all of the coordinates, go to the lower right corner of the screen and click the action button 5. Then click the assign coordinates & ball locations to all parks button, then click OK... You should be good to go...

My bad... You do need the ballpark photos in your ballpark file for these to show up in game... I will zip up the photos and have them if anyone wants them... Just PM me your e mail address and I will send you the zip file...

Tex. Are there blacks only for this league or am I gonna have 3 white guys named Joe Smith for this?
Wondering how I can add this to my History of Baseball which has fictional players but I haven't figured out a way to keep the leagues segregated. |

I know this thread is regarding an older version of the game. But I think the concept could still work with the newer models of OOTP.

I will probably associate the two majors in a few years to have a championship series between the Caucasian league vs. the Colored League...

It would be good to have an updated quickstart for OOTP 14 users. I realize that the method is different now, but is this something you might be able to do, txranger?

Problem with Independent League

This is not a problem with the NCBL because you have set the rules such to disable the secondary 40-man roster, in the NIL this option is turned on. Because this option is turned on, even when I sign a free agent with a minor league contract it ends up in the "designated for assignment" template and I cannot put it on the reserve roster (even though the reserve roster exists). If I put the player on waivers he is always claimed by another team. The funny thing is, as mentioned before, the AI control teams have no problem putting teams on the reserve roster. Any thoughts? Was your intent to give the NIL and the NCBL a different rule set? Since you did the research I want to follow your lead. I will post a bug report because I do not understand how the AI does it! |
