One thing the game may not factor is that players who are on streaks might adjust their ordinary batting style to maintain that streak, which in real life may subtly push their numbers one way or another.

A player who draws an average amount of walks might start swinging at more pitches if he has a 25 game hitting streak on the line. Or he might bunt with the infield deep in a RISP situation. A player sitting on 3 HR is going to swing for the fences on the 4th at bat no matter what. Even if it makes a very small adjustment, I doubt the game is taking it into account.

But none of that keeps us from "feeling" things, and a game's fun quotient is directly related to how we feel, regardless of what is real.
Well, I've done a rather small amount of testing but a large amount of playing. It was because I never saw these things happen that I started testing. So I'm working off more than 4 seasons of data, although most of it is not controlled or precisely measured.

I think Erithtotl has it partly right, as does the person who said that the game doesn't account for players who actually get hot (as opposed to lucky, which is interpreted as hot) in a given day or week.

All of these are likely to produce negative results. Given that the game should produce more streaks and 4HR on that basis IMO it's all a wash. The game should not be considered an exact representation of real life. We all read novels watch TV and Movies and easily separate the difference from real life.
