Do I trade Giancarlo Stanton

I am 33-39 and know I won't make the playoffs in year one..

Long term he is my best trading piece for arms.. Should I hold onto him for a few years and build around or trade?

I would say it would depend on financial situation for you and suggest you formulate a plan to make the team a consistant winner. There are many creative ways of doing so. If you have a consistant player that is young I like to sign them long term and hopefully on the "cheap" side. However I do watch to make sure I dont get trapped with the 10/5 player so I can make trades if nessasary.

Just traded him to CHI WS

He was .291/.350/.640 in 198 AB with 19HR's.. Just wouldn't have been able to resign him with my budget in a few years and with all the young talent the Marlins have in my system MLB already. I needed to rebuild

I got 5 players:

1 AA 2B
2 A SP with one a top 200
1 AAA CL who i hope moves up so I can trade Cishek down the road if needed
1 C who is my MLB backup..

Thought it was a fair deal with a player 76/80 in his prime
