What Issues Is The New Patch Doing To Your Leagues>?

I downloaded it but I have yet to install it. I keep reading bad things about it. Trying to decide if i want to install it. I know to backup all of my leagues prior to the patch install. Just would prefer not to have to uninstall teh game and reinstall it and then restore 4 games from back ups.

This thread relates to the problem I've been encountering...I (and others) posted on the technical problem page and Andreas has already been in touch....I can play in windowed mode until the problem is resolved......and my team still stinks!!

I think this is a bug, but if I have a minor leaguer that's on the 40 man roster (but has never ever been in the big leagues) and they have to go on the DL...

1. The AI will now put the kid on the 60 day DL even if the injury if for 3 weeks or something. Wouldn't it make more sense just to put him on the 15 day DL? Or am I wrong?

2. The main problem is that when these guys are placed on the 60 day DL, they now get MLB service time even though they were never in the majors. Is this how it actually works? (Again, I'm not sure...)

I haven't encountered any issues, myself. Not denying that they're there, but they obviously don't happen to everyone.

All right, this thread "bugs" me. One, it infers the new update is doing something in a rather negative light. It isn't. There are some hiccups, primarily in the facegen area, and Andreas is looking into it. As to whether it's a game issue or an issue arising as a combination of the game and the user's settings, we don't know. Two, there's at least two areas that are designed to collect this information, the Bug Thread and the latest Update Thread. Please use them.

Soliciting this kind of input separate from those may result in something being overlooked, no matter how hard I try to review what goes on here, and frankly, again, it doesn't come off positive, which I believe the update to be: a positive one that can be installed with confidence. And should something odd occur in what appear to be a few circumstances, it proves an avenue to report it appropriately, not waving flags of 'this ruined my league' or 'what did it DO to you?"

Yes, you're wrong.

A player in the minor leagues, whether on the 40-man roster or not, goes on the minor league DL. That DL is a 7-day one, and OOTP recreates it. There is also a 60-day minor league DL for longer term injuries. OOTP, however, does not recreate that. The problem arises because the player is injured for a longer period of time, the AI, rather than just leaving the player on the 7-day DL for as long as needed, wants to put him on a long-term DL. Since there isn't one at the minor league level, it (incorrectly) uses the major league one.

This isn't a new problem. It's been around for a couple of versions. It's been pointed out to the powers-that-be a few times, but for whatever reason it hasn't as yet been addressed.

Endgame, I will see your 2 cents and raise you 2....... If the update is causing some issues with peoples league, as in my own with the black screen, then it is negative and the "hiccup" as you call it certainly wouldn't be a positive one but in fact a negative one. I believe the OP was simply asking what issue's people have seen so when he updates, if he does at all,so he knows what to expect.
I don't think this a game bashing thread, at least I hope not. This game is the best out there and only getting better with every version.

Everyone can do what they want and respond to the OP as they choose. I expressed an opinion and it hasn't changed. It may serve The Game well personally- and evidently the Wolf or others -but it just added one more area for issues be collected from, when the others already existed and can be read, too, by the OP. I was primarily concerned something may be overlooked, but I guess that's my responsibility to ensure it doesn't happen. FWIW. Carry on. I fold.

Thanks for the response. Why do you think it just started happening in this patch? It hasn't happened to me before, so the minor leaguers shouldn't technically go on the MLB 60 day DL but on the minor league one, but that is not in OOTP? I mean, it starts their MLB service time, so not sure what to say.

I guess I'm on the same side of the curtain as endgame. I appreciate the bug reports, especially the ones that provide ample information. It helps; believe me. However, the tone of some posts (not all, no) is sometimes shrill. Like Chicken Little. Sure, it's no fun having a problem. But I've been around long enough to know that Markus and Andreas resolve most issues without having to use extreme measures. Be patient, is all.

My point for this thread Endgame was to try to determine for myself whether or not installing the patch is worth it or to wait. I wanted to collect the data in one thread before making a decision. I see your point and let's just go ahead and have a MOD shut this thread down.

Yes I dont bash myself and I do get better with each version and as I have said in my "Finally" thread I regret not getting the game earlier. I want to save myself the trouble of having to uninstall and reinstall and to possible mess up the 3 active leagues and the 3 QS's I am working on. i play in windowed so the black screen should not affect me. I clone real players so the zero's in the real stat line wont show up. If the real stats line is working it will come in handy in a few historical leagues I play. I know Markus & Co will fix any errors that arise from this patch but that could be a week or 6 months down the line.

I dont bash the game. I am loyal to Markus & co. I promote 14 on the 3 other baseball boards I am on. I am hesitant to buy & upgrade when there are/have been numerous bugs that may affect the league I care so dearly about that without OOTP I would not be playing. This league has evolved ten fold since playing it in 2010 on High Heat 2003, using my city names but mostly real teams uniforms being forced to play within the confines of HH. If Endgame thought I was game bashing I didn't see it that way.

Hear, hear. I spent the time to go through the patch thread itself in order to make my decision (which is to hold off on the patch). It's a lot to wade through. A summary thread of the "perceived" issues would serve other members well in order to make their own decisions. Moreover, some of those "perceived" issues could alter league results, if I read them correctly. A fair question to ask, this thread title.
