Minor league Questions
Question have any of you had a non-affiliated minor leagues? I'm thinking of adding one, my hopes is they take on all the free-agents no one wants and develope them. My question will do take those free agents or will they just creat new players? I have a fictional 26 team major league league and a 26 team AAA minor league affiliated with my major league. I want my new league to be a small 8 team AA non-affiliated league. Also how does work with picking up
Players in that league? Do you have to buy out their contracts to join your organization? Last edited by Padreman; 08-06-2013 at 08:12 PM. |

A way to prevent the free agent creation in an independent league is to check the box for amateur draft, set it to 1 round, then set it to create players for 0 rounds. It will give you a warning that there won't be enough players generated, which you click OK on. There is a "draft" every year, but no selections are ever made (for obvious reasons).
I read about this trick from someone on the boards here, but now do not recall who it was. I've used it and it works fine. |

One problem is In have some 37-42 year old vets that are one or half stars still hanging around in free-agency. None of the
Major league teams want them I know I don't. But in my mind they still hang around because A. They love the game or B. they want a paycheck. How can I get my Minor league teams to pick these guys up? |

So I decided to make my new AA
League be affiliated with my Manor league but no team being a farm team Of any specific major league team. What type of impact if any or problems could I experience? |

In this situation, they will not have any reserve player limits. They will sign their active roster players, and then just stockpile reserves. They don't have any finances, so they will seem to be able to sign potentially hundreds of players. If no team is affiliated, you can easily go in and release them all at the same time each year to give other clubs a chance to sign them.

Did not want to open a new thread so ill just use this one here it goes.
Ok I have 30 team Major league and an AAA level affiliate with 30 teams an same with an AA level. now my question if any of you have done this before I want to expand my AAA to 30 more teams so it will go from 30 to 60 teams and I want each Major league club to have 2 affiliates in AAA level. So my AAA will be one league with 2 sub league and 30 teams per sub league 4 divisions per sub-league. My question is how will it work with one major league team having 2 affiliates In the same level? Pros and cons please? Last edited by Padreman; 08-06-2013 at 08:13 PM. |
