All Star game question

I traded for Casey Janssen in the middle of the season because I needed bullpen depth. He made the NL all-star team even though he only made 6 appearances in the NL. I noticed in the letter(?) about the all-star game rosters he was credited for his season stats between both leagues. I feel like this situation wasn't handled correctly but maybe my knowledge of the league is off.

It is one of the deeper mysteries of the OOTP universe. I have had many leagues afflicted with Janssenitis. Kind of like The Conjuring, truly disturbing.

You want to really be freaked out? I've even seen Janssenitis in Baseball Mogul!

But to answer the OP...I think the situation was handled correctly and that stats from both leagues should be considered. It's not exactly apples to apples, but in 2004 Carlos Beltran was traded from the AL(Royals) to the NL(Astros) in late June and ended up playing for the NL in the All-Star game. Now, the difference is he was originally picked for the AL roster(by the players, who started voting before the trade). Still, he wasn't on the NL roster right away(they ruled that he was considered an All-Star, and could attend the event, but not play in the game), but Griffey tore his hamstring and the manager picked Beltran to replace him...obviously, he was taking stats from both leagues into consideration.

But you INSIST on starting Casey Janssen over Henderson Alvarez, Kyle Drabek and every other starter even though they are rested. I know OOTP only sees numbers but Janssen has a stamina of 23, as he should as a reliever. What is the deal here?
