Is partial day rest effective for batters?
In prior versions, regarding player fatigue, if the player played at all, they were not considered rested. So one pinch-hit at bat counted the same as playing an entire game, as far as rest goes.
In OOTP 14, does a partial days rest help a player? For example, removing a batter early from a game, or using as only a pinch hitter. |

Unfortunately, no. However, DH'ing will freeze a player's energy for that game.

Using a player as a PH has been fixed. I just tested this out to be sure. I had a player who was showing the icon that indicates partially fatigued so I started my back up but used the starter to PH for the pitcher in the 8th. He was 100% rested for the next day's game.
I can't speak for sure to removing a player early as I have not tested or watched for it but pinch hitting is ok |

I can confirm that a player will gain energy even if they PH on their "day off"
