AI tune up in this situation

Situation: top of 16th. Bench thin. Tied 5-5 Pitcher stays in to hit. Get's a no out double!...but wait, pitcher right, and(!) no outs...what's this! He's trying to stretch it to a triple (and no input chance given to me to to yea or nea) and is thrown out. What the hey?!

do you have your manager settings set to agressive baserunning in certain times of game

This kind of stuff happens, though. He got excited, he wants to help his team win. Plus, as a pitcher, he probably has poor baserunning skills. If pitchers (or anyone for that matter) are consistently getting thrown out trying to stretch no out doubles into triples in extra innings, then, yeah, there's a problem. But one time? It's just a freak thing and these things happen from time to time.

Good point but the strategy settings do not have an "out" component. Based on that the default concept from the AI should be consistent with "never make the 1st or 3rd out at third".

Having said that. It's hard to ask for such detail as players make these mistakes every day or week. If we get that level of detail then the game becomes predictable.

One could argue that the word on the bench would be "don't stretch anything".

Yep, things happen But pen and bench thin and he has to try and 1)stretch a 2 to 3 in a close game with no outs, 2)AND try and hurt himself to boot if he has to slide. *Chuckle* He probably was so stoked he hit a double he couldn't help himself

I have the 'steal bar' set to one click toward aggressive from the default. But I really don't think that had anything to do with it. I think, as mentioned above and in you folks post, things happen...but why me?

Just one of those things,
Thanks folks.
