Idiots Guide to Historic Mode

I want to start running a historic mode, accurately mirroring the NHL in terms of expansion and holding the draft- but of course players would be drafted to new teams....and history re-written.

What boxes do I need to check to make this happen?

All of the boxes need to be checked to do that - expand league and hold expansion draft to get expansion working historically, draft so the drafts are active, and generate rookies at 17 to provide players to draft (if you uncheck that last one but have draft active, players will appear as free agents at whatever age they became property of an NHL team historically.)

A warning, though: the drafts (expansion and otherwise) aren't working properly in historical mode right now - until that's fixed, you may be better off running with automatically expand on but the rest turned off, which will put players on their historical teams at the correct age (i.e., they'll "draft" the same players they actually did.)
