Free Agent Inbox Problems?
Trying to sign a free agent in an online league. I get an inbox message saying,
"Your offer has been topped by another team...I'd appreciate something more rewarding. The Reds have offered me fair market value. I'd have to say they are the favorites." The problem is I am the Reds! Should I really be getting this inbox message. Does this mean I should keep my offer? Thanks for any clarification. |

Did you make them a previous better offer?

I saw this in OOTP12 and OOTP13. Haven't seen it in 14 yet. It's a minor bug; you're still the best offer, and he'll likely sign with you if no one else offers him more.

I almost withdrew my offer to give him a better offer...but I figured it would make him angry, not help the situation. |

yeah, dont do that. Withdrawing an offer leads to only bad things.
its like letting a coach's contract run out. He will never speak to you if you do that.

When in doubt just go to the 'pending offers' tab and see if he favors yours.

So it's been 14 days and he still hasn't accepted. Will I need to withdraw and give him another offer? His reaction on the pending offers is he wants more money. Or should I just wait?

Click on his name and make another offer. When you get to the contact talk screen he'll have a measure for you saying that he wants a better offer

Always go with what it says on the Pending Offers page.
