League Evolution - Team moves

After the conclusion of the 2025 season the Marlins moved to San Antonio (citing low attendance even though they drew 3.6M. Even in OOTP the Marlins owner is kind of a jerk )

I notice that players who played for the 2025 Marlins now appear to have played in San Antonio even though the season was played in Florida:

Trivial, yes, but it would be preferable if it recorded the correct city name.

Any chance this can be addressed in an update?

(also - can you make sure the game moves a team to Portland. )

You can always move the team yourself to Portland or another city or town you want

Exodor, that looks like a bug. You should report it.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

My best guess is that the move occurred before the season actually ended, so the team is treated as being in San Antonio for the year. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work though.

No, it is not. This needs reporting.

Actually, Oliver nailed it. That is exactly what is happening. The move takes place after the Marlin's season is finished, but the play-offs are still ongoing.

The program is assigning the 2025 Marlins as being in San Antonio precisely because the move did not take place during the league off-season.

This is a bug, yes. However, Oliver has noted the cause of the undesired output*, which will make it much easier for Markus and Crew to correct it.

Went to the appropriate thread but VanillaGorilla already posted with a link here.

Thanks VG!

The 2025 World Series was between the Cubs and Royals which seems like a bug too but probably isn't.

This is a problem, and one of the reasons I don't use auto-league evolution. Believe I ran into this in a league and started doing relocation manually after the end of the calendar year. Throws some things off depending on your draft date, but looks better.

This "bug" has been in previous versions of OOTP in 13 and 11 that I can verify.

It's more work, but couldn't you leave evolution on and once teams move, then move them back and do it again manually after the season's over? Just throwing it out there.

That's what I do, but you're right, it's more work and needs fixing. Really the only thing necessary here is to make sure that teams don't move until after the playoffs are over - shouldn't be too hard to do.
