Charecter progression.

Hi, when i play other sports management games there is usually increases in reputation and the ability to go up the league system, like in OOTP you can get to the MLB when starting out at the bottom. But i dont seem to be able to find when another GM is fired so i can take his job. Is it included and im just not getting lucky?

You can follow the "Available jobs" section. I think at least on July 1st there are always some new spots.
