Player not being used
I have a closer 9 year vet won closer of the year award that I created 5 times, well last season I noticed when i sim the season te AI never put him in any games well so far into 31 games he still won't be used. He is not hurt and is set as closer but not being used. This happen one other time with a starter. The AI never used him so he never got stats. Does anyone know why?

He may not show hurt but confirm he doesn't have an unresolved injury by checking him in commissioner mode.

Did you check the strategy page to make sure he's not benched for X number of days? One time I intended to set a pitch count for a reliever and put the number in the wrong field.

I've seen similar things in my league. I have a good, durable rotation, but I still shouldn't see my 6th reliever not get into a game for the first three or four weeks of the season. I had to adjust my bullpen, making him a top setup guy, so he'd eventually get into a game. Now my season is in mid-June and he has something like 8 innings pitched on the year. His role is just standard middle reliever, and I think a secondary role of setup man.
I know, in the past bonus babies would be on the roster for two years and almost never play. But the guy on my roster is a 35-year-old Japanese free agent signing. There are still some nuances the AI misses.

I figure it I was able to trace back to an injury he had that put him in the 15 day DL before he got hurt was the last time he pitched and after the 15 day DL he still never pitches i realized since them he was listed has "fragile" but no longer hurt I slightly adjusted the stats so we won't be listed as "fragile" anymore and that did it

I have fragile players who play all the time.

Choose a player go to "Editor" and under his personal information there is a area I can't recall exactly what it says since I'm at work and can't Check but has to die with injury and mentioned prowness I believe it says arm, leg ect give them a lower number I did 5 and he went from
Fragile to Iroman |

tell ya what i think it was, and it is easy to miss
for some reason a player can get a day-day injury % drop, say 80 or something, and when we look at the injury page, we look and see no games in the injury column and the DTD value looks like a normal injury rating so we dont notice. its not an injury to put on the DL, so he doesn't go on the DL and may not show as injured when you look at the player my guess is when you ediited the injury values, you also turned the DTD injury to 0 or 5 or something so in a few days the value became 0 and the closer started to play again that happened to me one time and had me baffled to until i caught the DTD injury value and 0'd it out, then he was back playing normally |

I don't think it's stats. You can edit proneness to various injuries in the editor. Just below current injuries
I still think this was an unresolved DtD injury. I've never seen a player not used due to his injury history state.

It was a strange situation, but once I adjusted so he was no longer fragile it worked but like many of you I used other players that were fragile did fine with them
