Paul,
I'm sticking with the .pdf format as it would be too much work to change over to an .html format for me, as I'm not a programmer. I've over 20 pages in the can now, and am moving quickly. I am having issues with how to add photos for the ring card girls however, so that page, while added is missing info. I am currently setting up an outline for the rest of the manual, and will post that along with what's finished here later today or tomorrow. John |

Can you master as .odt rather than pdf please... With a PDF it would be more difficult to maintain it. We can convert to a pdf for distribution, but the master doc should be more accessible IMHO. |

Not sure if they were in the credits on 2.5, I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I've hit a wall, but should have it finished by Monday once I get a head of steam going again..

Great work, John. Keep it up and you're a shoe-in for a corner office and a Vice-Presidency!

I figure it's the least I can do for a community that has embraced me so warmly as this one has. I've been on countless message boards over the years, but with you guys, it's like family...

alias Inspector Frost. Both excellent series, but the former displayed the charming talents of young Catherine Zeta Jones...what a beauty!

With historical fighters it should be simple. Knowing their prime form already, you edit their ratings based on that fact, start them off as Beginner and use the auto-aging to advance them through career stages. Absolutely no need to have career stages visible once the fighter has been created. Unless, of course, you plan on recreating Joe Louis' loss to Rocky Marciano, but you should be able to do that in the fight set-up screen. With current fighters, you are dealing with up and comers, guys in their prime and ones on their way down. A lot trickier to rate current fighters. I recall Danny telling me how many hours he spent just trying to get one particular fighter the way he wanted him. Difficult to gauge where some fighters are in their careers. Is Wlad Klitschko in his prime or post-prime? What about Tony Thompson? That's why I tend to avoid trying to add current boxers to my universe. How many predicted Chad Dawson getting wiped out in 1 round? A guy just starting now in RL would have to be rated as a beginner when added to the game, but in the game he would have to advance as his skills hopefully improved. The whole multiple career stages thing since version 2.5 has me buffaloed. What does it mean? How does it work? What's the point if you've got auto-aging? What happens now if you change a boxer's career stage manually? This thing requires more step-by-step instruction, because some folks here seem to grasp it right off, while others like myself are somewhat mystified by its apparent necessity. For me, and my alternate universe, it comes down to this. I imported my 2.0 universe through 2.5 to TB2013. I have a large number of retired fighters now in a group called Retirees. Most had their stats and careers reset to Beginner when I retired them, but some are still set at Prime or Post-Prime. What happens to these guys in TB2013 if I try to set them back to Beginner? Aside from the game seemingly trying to create another "Career Stage"? Cap

I can provide the screenshots as we go, or you can, whichever's easiest for you...

I've not done a lot with auto aging myself to be honest. One thing I can tell you is that if you use auto-aging on any fighter, it pretty much makes it so the fighters may not be historically accurate during their careers. Why in 2.5 there's a warning to that effect. As you know, I usually do a lot of tournaments, thus prefer my fighters to be "prime" for the duration. I will spend some time experimenting with the auto-aging before writing that section of the manual, unless someone out there knows enough that they can write that section for us. John |
