Allow an option to set club as rebuilding at beginning of game
Currently, If we have a bad year or two the owner will fire us no matter what. When I create a new manager, I would like to be able to start my first club in a rebuilding mode, giving us more time to rebuild the team into a contender. Currently we aren't given enough time, like, say, the Houston Astros would fire me after not meeting his expectations.
Either allow us to set an option like this at the beginning of the game to give us more time to rebuild, or perhaps make us give our season expectation to the owner and if we meet the goal I set, then I can stay on the team as long as the owner wants me as a GM. Possible types of season expectations we can present to our owner: We expect to win 60 games, losing record We expect to improve our minor league organizations with good prospects We expect to win 70 games We expect to finish .500 We expect to win 80 games etc etc I wonder if this is possible or would the owner expectation have to be rewritten altogether? |

Well, that would be realistic, but I'm not sure how difficult it would be to program.
The work around though - use the "Cannot be fired" option. ![]() Also, you can go to the team page and set your team to "rebuilding", even though I think this is more cosmetic for human players than it is for the AI. |

I do use the cannot be fired box but the game can get quite boring when I continually have bad losing seasons and cannot be held accountable.

Police yourself - if you have a few bad seasons, uncheck the "cannot be fired" option. There are many many ways to make the game challenging besides just adding more options to it.

I keep the cannot be fired on for the first five seasons then turn it off. I do this to assure that the I get the chance to build the team into a winner. If I can't after five seasons I probably deserve to be fired.
