What would cause this issue

Ok, been running the What Might Have Been dynasty for nearly 20 years game time. I just made a few name changes and of course that meant new jerseys, logos and caps. Not to worry, found the ones I wanted, from a list of all the ones I have been using all along and copied them to the folder I have set up, like I have done a million times and this is what I got for one the changed teams and a couple of the already established, been using for years now teams:



Everything but the caps works. I got it to fix on a couple of the teams but there are a few, that just wont fix. What do I need to do to fix this?? Any help is appreciated in advance.

Maybe post the files that won't work here so we can look at them... Maybe sized incorrectly or in the wrong format, but this looks like something different to me...

I can, they are just the caps from large file for the different years, cant think right now who it is, I can do that and will post them shortly, thanks

It used to work until this last round of changes. Very disruptive and not sure what happened.

It's a size issue. It's 511x511 and should be 512x512. Also, it got converted to .jpg from .png.

When these images are attached, the forum software does this.

Ok, so I checked the file on the harddrive, it is 512x512 and is a png, so that doesnt seem to be the reason, any other thing I can check?

Here is something even more disturbing, the problem is not a team wide thng, but only a few players, this is getting a bit nuts, I really dont get what happened. I tried chaning the pic, redoing whatever I could think of and nothing.

I think I heard somewhere once this is a facegen issue and not a cap issue, I've had it happen before and regenerating new pics always fixed it for me, SOMETIMES If I had a lot of them I had to re create all the player pics in the game from set up

did you try generating new player pics from the players and pictures area of setup?

Yep, I did that and I will probably play around with it more in a bit, I will suffer it if it dont fix it.

did you try removing the caps that aren't working .letting the game generate a fictional cap (see if it works) then putting the custom cap back in the folder? I seem to remember doing that once or twice

Oh no don't suffer, just delete the league if you can't fix it!

Uh, no, that would be in my Baseball History - What Might Have Been dynasty, not an option, But i think that my last resort is to remove the caps that do not work and reenter them. We will see, but deletion is not an option, lol

There's a graphic property called "bit depth"...don't really understand what it is. In OOTP, for the logos, uniforms, etc. this should be 32. Sometimes it gets changed to 24. You can check it by clicking on properties. Try this one and see if it works:

OK, this is very odd and gettting odder by the minute. I went in this morning, thinking, no worries, take out the offending cap, regenerate new ones, problem solved. WRONG, wont regenerate a generic cap.

Ok, so, I noticed something on the Reds team. The Home page only show one player messed up, different for different teams in some cases, but the graphical area whee you choose has it messed up completely. One team has the hitters wearing one cap, the pitchers the right cap, but the screen you choose caps and things on has it messed up too.

I will post a few screen shots when I get done regenerating al 6700+ pics to see if that makes a diff

This is nuts, havent reallly checked my cubs dynasty to see if it hasa an issue too.

Well that wasnt what I expected.

Ran the update pics for the entire save, and now almost every team is showing issues on the team home page. I did manage to find one that is a sort of example of what I am talking about





The home page shows almost all the caps messed up but as you can see, the graphics page where you select the images shows a cap, a jersey and a logo, everything is in its proper place. I am so confused, but to be honest, if it cant be fixed, it cant be. Still wont regenerate a generic cap, I left the Reds caps vacant before the regeneration of pics and it still shows the same thing.

Grrr, just cause I changed a name or two.

Just out of curiosity I checked to see if this cap issue was effecting my Cubs dynasty and wouldnt you know it, it is?????? This is insane. Makes no sense. Wondering if it is a screen resolution issue. I have an older machine, relatively older regular old monitor, I am at a loss for what to try next



UPDATE: Ok, checked all my leagues on my machine, seems they were all affected. So I changed the resolution, closed the game and brought it back. Seems to have fixed the graphis issue where you choose the caps and such, but the home screen picture is all screwed up but the individual player screens are fine (this is in the original save) This is nuts
