I've been doing a lot of spreadsheet work in prepping my Astros organization prior to the 2015 season (could we hit 70 wins? I sure hope so!) and I noticed that some fielding ratings changed from year-to-year. If this isn't really new, then I was just dense, but I think it's new and I like it.

That's part of the new defensive model.

I've also noticed the defensive ratings change much faster over a short period of time as well. I traded for a prospect who is very good defensively at 3B but since I have a very good 3B I moved him to 2B. In just under a month he has gone from a 0 rating to 30. Love it.

Yeah I agree...I'm the Cubs and I moved Baez to 3b in the minors and in 2 years now of learning the position he is a 16 out of 20 at 3b....Huge huge huge advancement!
