iOOTP for android.

I was wondering if OOTP will be availible for download on a android phone. I am not a big Apple type person

I have searched around on my android phone shop and was not able to find this game. Even searched on here as well, no such luck.

I don't think Markus has plans to release it on Android... or at least I haven't seen anything from him about the subject.

Could you find a used iPod Touch for a cheap price? That could do the trick.

nawww I have never bought an apple anything. I do not like buying things that can only be bought inhouse as it were. To me its too limiting. Thats why I never bought their computers or phones or any other thing they came out with.

So buy a used iPod Touch on Craigslist. Apple gets zero dollars from that.

Fair enough. I'm an Apple fan (iPhone, iPod, iMac), but have lots of friends who don't like Apple products. To each, his own.

just to ask an obvious question and yet ignorant as well. Is it hard to get the game "converted" for use on android phones??? or is their serious software issues to be concerned about???

I know less than zero about that type of thing, so I have no idea if it's even possible. Sorry.

was worth a shot in asking

I understand OLD software stuff but nothing from todays LOL

My first and origonal thought it might have been an issue of $$ to put on for android as well as apple. I am reasonably sure that both charge a certain amount to have the game availible for us to buy and download.

Markus has said that it's much more difficult to code the game for the Android OS, so OOTP Developments doesn't want to go down that road.

But that may have to change in the near future. Android phones are now destroying Apple in sales by a factor of about 5 to 2. And Android tablets are doing really well too. The market will simply be too large to ignore.

False! Android has a very slight edge (of a few percentage points) in phone sales and iOS has a much larger lead in tablet sales.

And I have no dog in the fight, I'm switching from iOS to Android next upgrade.

I think it's going to be critical for Markus to eventually sell an Android build, as the Android market continues to grow and outpace the iOS marketplace, and, the tablet market continues to outpace the PC market. The chart below (from Cnet/Shara Tibken) shows a fairly obvious climb in sales and sales potential...

I'm not an iOS user, so I may sound biased, and for full disclosure, I am an Android user. My preference, Android, appears to be growing faster than Apple products because of a broader range of devices and because the PC users who don't want to buy into iOS needed a successful mobile platform. Windows mobile isn't cutting it, so Android was an easy choice for me.

Actually the new Windows phones DO cut it, and they integrate well with Windows 8 machines and will integrate well soon with the Xbox One. Don't count Windows out yet, they have just begun to compete.

FYI the Nokia Lumia 920 4G Windows Phone gets 4.5 stars on Amazon, with 200 of 253 reviewers giving it five stars with comments like "so much better than Android or iPhone" and "simply the best."

I've used one and I join those 200 people in telling you not to count Windows out yet. I believe that it has just begun to fight.
