Upgrading from 12 to 14

Does anyone know if you can import an OOTP12 league in OOTP14? I'd like to confirm this before I purchase OOTP14, and I noticed there's only an option on the main menu for importing OOTP13 leagues.

You'll have to download 13 (not buy it, just download it). You can use import the game into 13, then the 13 version into 14.

Unfortunately, after downloading OOTP13, looks like I can't import OOTP12 game without first buying OOTP13. Unless there's a playable OOTP13 demo out there I can use to perform this function?

I believe you actually need the demo version of OOTP13; the regular version won't work as a demo. Try this: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3461701

There is no difference, the demo is the full version, only with a time limit.

When you install and start OOTP13 there should be an option to play demo.

You are correct. He needs the demo version of OOTP 13. The demo version is not the same as the full version.

What he will need to do now is to completely uninstall OOTP 13 and download and install the demo version: http://www.ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ootp13demosetup.exe

It's the same. If you download and play the demo, then decide to buy, you don't have to download again. You just purchase your license and use it on the already installed demo, which unlocks the time constraint.

Ah hah. See, there is a difference . Seriously though, I had thought I remembered reading somewhere what the differences were between the demo and the full versions but I can't seem to find it. He does need to use that setup file I provided or else the full setup file will ask the user to purchase the game or enter a license. The demo file will allow the user to try the game - with time constraints as you did correctly point out.

That may be the difference too - I haven't noticed before. Once licensed the "Demo" option no longer appears? I haven't downloaded the demo for a few versions so it could well have changed too.

Main thing is, you got the OP sorted out so he can play.
