Historical Development Check Box
An area that would be nice to be addressed is with historical games, when having development off and recalc on- players on their last season will continue to have those stats until the game decides to retire them-
thus a player with 3 good games in 1904 can become a 300 game winner because he never takes any hit to his totals as he ages as the rest of the players who had longer careers will.
the usual suggestion is to either a) retire according to history b) put development on
but the recalc feature is such a terrific one for historical,
One way I had thought around it was to have a check box on the player edit page that says player development. If checked the player will develop re the development engine. unchecked they only follow recalc. At the start of a game all players get a check or no check based on how we have structured our game
but as soon as the file looks and sees a player has no further career, it unchecks the box, causing regular development modifiers to kick in for that player- of course we could check or uncheck any box as we saw fit along the way
this would solve this problem rather easily without the need to redo the database with extra bad years for all players or whatnot.
now one would set up a historical game with development off- all boxes then unchecked for players, then we go into game setup, click development on (which will affect no on in year 1 as all boxes are unchecked) until the next year when a few boxes begin to be unchecked as they have no longer any stats showing on thier database
An idea I have had for a few years, just never posted till now
