Post Ability to tell individual players what you want from them

Example:

Tell your good base stealers/fast runners to steal w/out the whole team doing the same.

Ability to tell your good contact hitters to hit and run (if of corse theres runners on base) and not your whole team.

Same with Sac Bunting bad power hitters/good bunters (not your franchise/middle of the lineup rbi guys let 'em swing away) to advance runners late in ball games.

162 games is a long season and like alot of us we don't have time to play each individual game, wish we could but most can't this would be a good way to get full potential out of your players.

This is great suggestion =)

I had basestealing set to often and Edgar Martinez decided to become a 20-20 man. He hit 24 homers with 22 steals..was caught 22 times though.

Another item like it, which I have stolen from CM, is to tell a role to player will negotiating. For example, you will be a platoon player or starter. Some players would take less money if they know they will start. Then if not using in that role, then the player will complain, be less likely to re-sign. Also, other players will be less trustworthy of your future offers.

I can see it as a reason to complain about playing time, but I don't see it as impacting salary, especially in the manner that you mention. You can tell the player his role and maybe he goes into "Operation Shutdown" and requests a trade, maybe he demands more playing time, especially if the team is losing, and maybe he says I'm going to play so well you have to start me and plays better than anticipated.. these things I can see that feature being good for.

However, it shouldn't impact salary; at least not in the fashion you indicate, if you tell the player he's a starter he should request more than if you tell him that he's a back-up. Personally I would not like to see this feature impact salary in ANY way, as it would likely become an exploit as you'd see humans changing the players perceived roles in contract years to keep extension requests lower.

Yeah, a player wouldn't take less money just to start they would likely tell the organization to be traded (where they would get the oportunity to start every 4-5 days) just doesn't make much sense.
