MLB fantasy draft
I want to set up a league with a fantasy draft of just players on major league rosters. I tried setting up a new MLB fantasy draft league through the Game Setup/Schedule Fantasy Draft but it dumped all the players from the majors and minors into the pool. I think it even dumped the upcoming entry draft players into the pool, too, since Appel was available. I then tried setting all teams to be controlled by me, went in and acted as . . . for each team and released all the players on each team's 40 man roster, thinking I could then do a draft of free agents, but doing so hit each team with all the contract costs and no team had any money left. I'd like to do a fantasy draft of just the players in the major league or on the 40 man rosters. Am I missing something in how to do this?

Another possible option. Create a dummy league with the major league teams. Move all MLers over to it. release and schedule draft and manually move them back to the other league keeping all correct minor leaguers. Not saying either way is correct, just random thoughts. |

I think I may have figured this out. I went to Act as for each team and released all their players on the 40 man roster plus players on the 60 day DL and a few players in the minors with major league contracts (excluding a few rookies like Dylan Bundy). Then, in commissioner mode, went to each team's finance section and adjusted the players' payroll expense to zero. Now each team has their normal budget available and all major league players are in the free agent pool ready for a free agent draft. Hopefully the rest of the draft will go OK, too.
