Question about historical rookies

I thought I read something regarding OOTP14 that if I were to start a 2013 MLB game, there was an option so throughout the game years, random historical rookies will show up in the draft pool.

Like if I were to be in 2015, I may see Willie Mays in the amateur draft pool. Then in 2016 see Babe Ruth and Tony Gwynn.

Is this possible or was I just imagining stuff?

It's possible if you do it without any of the existing history of MLB. In the MLB quickstart, all those players are already deemed "retired" so that their stats are there for historical purposes. The option is called "random player debut" or something like that in the historical options.

In the options, where you have the path to your database, just check mark the boxes that say import real rookies and random debut. The player will come in randomly, can be done anytime in any year.

Works for a neat idea for getting players to come in after you exhaust the database
