League Totals questions

I'm starting a MLB quick-start with your typical assortment of AAA-AA-A-R leagues as well as a few International/Foreign ones that I've added (Venezuelan Summer, Dominican Summer, Australian League, etc.). There's mainly two settings that I still don't understand: Automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy and Automatically control in-game engine.

I was told that "Automatically adjust..." is only relevant for historical plays, but then why is it automatically selected for a MLB quick-start?

"Automatically control..." I don't get at all. If it uses the league totals, wouldn't that be better so the stats don't get too far out of whack? When are you supposed to enable it? It says only for minors, but what about other leagues that are International and not of the caliber as the Major Leagues?

I think "Automatically adjust..." is just something that was overlooked by the quickstart designer. It really is meaningless as there is no historical data for 2013, the year of the quick start, and beyond.

As far as "Automatically control...", the best reference that I could find was this (it's not in the online manual*):
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...modifiers.html

Thanks for asking about that second option; I had not even known about it until now!

EDIT: *Actually, it is in the manual, I just could not find it easily: http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/..._equivalencies and scroll down to League Totals and Modifiers.
