How to advance?

Hi, i'm playing through a WHL team and i was wondering if its possible to get job offers of a higher league and advance, or do i have to resign and hope for the best or what? I understand its beta so if it isnt added yet im fine with it just wondering

Edit:
i thought this was a bit unclear, what i meant was while i was GM of lets say St Johns Ice Caps, can i get an offer from the jets or Leafs or something? Or do i have to be un-employed??

As far as I know such thing is not in the game. But I was able to resign and apply for a job at better team in better league few versions back.

It seems as if you have to resign first. Hopefully, this will change.

Similar discussion going on in one of the OOTP threads too.

I don't think you would/should be "offered" another job while currently under contract to a team. I know it's just a game and it would be very tough to have another team (say higher league) "ask for permission" to talk to you about a gig, so resignation is about the easiest way (unless you're fired of course).

It would be very cool to have a specific contract and then either be offered a renewal or become a free agent after that contract runs out, then look around for other jobs.

EDIT: And, unless all the leagues line-up perfectly, it would be nice to be aware of open jobs for some length of time before they are filled in-game. That way you could evaluate signing a new contract or looking for another postion elsewhere.
