Ok, I give!

How the heck can you edit a nation and/or a city using the in-game editor?? I can't seem to find that and when I tried using the help, it locked up the application.

I MISS NATIONS/CITIES.TXT!!!

'Explore World' in the manager drop down menu.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

what it really needs is the ability to delete. you know in case you accidentally make a mistake.

I Miss Nations/Cities.txt Part II

I edited the first_names and names files because I want to run a historical league with classic, older names. I did all sorts of gymnastics to get this to work! What I did was...
1. Found a country with only one ethnicity (Niue!)
2. Copied the names from the US Historical (#39 in the names files) to the names for Niue (#30)
3. Edited the ethnicities file to get the ethnic makeup I wanted

What resulted...
* 99% of the players created were from Niue; great!
* The ethnicities worked perfectly; yay!
* MOST of the names are US Historical, but not all! The weirdest part is that some of the names I'm getting aren't in the first_names or names files at all (for any country)! I have no idea where they're coming from.

How do people create US Historical leagues given the current MESS that was made of the names/ethnicities process??

I don't understand much about how the databases work. For my league starting in 1901 I used Malleus Dei's All American DB file from OOTPmods.com. It seems to work ok even though it was created for earlier versions. The names are pretty good, all players are born in the US, and face gens are all white players. Coaches for some reason are born all over the world.

Sorry for getting off topic here. I'd rather not use them either but then aren't all team's strategies and preferences set to neutral?

I'm surprised this issue (the player names, not the coaches) doesn't bother more people.

I'm going to sim 40 years and see if the newly created players have wacky names or if it's a quirk when you first create the league.

Can you control coach ethinicity in 14? I haven't tried, but there are all-new ethnicity controls.
