Am I the only one this has happened to?

I play a fictional league since I started with version 6.0. After importing my data to version 14, my third baseman no longer has a rating to play 3B. It's not a huge problem since he is leading the league in errors, but... I have tried re-scouting him through my scout as well as the league scouting system. Nothing. I wasn't real sure what file to look in to edit him back to a third baseman. Any Ideas?

In the editor, on the right side, near the bottom, is a list of positions. This is where you add the position ratings 0-200 I believe. What ever position you wish a player to be you would enter the desired rating on that postion and the computer does the rest.

There are quite a few posts all over the boards about missing ratings. You might find some useful info by searching for it. Hope that helps somewhat.

THEOVELS, even if the player has 200 experience at the position in the editor, it is still possible the game will not display a rating for him if one of his infield fielding ratings is lower than the threshold for 3B. So, if his arm or range is less than 3 (1 to 10 scale), then the game won't display a fielding rating at 3B for the player (I'm guessing, don't know what the actual cut-off number is). That doesn't mean he can't still play there, just that the game will not display a 3B fielding rating. I think sometimes if the DP is too low, that will also affect whether a rating is displayed or not.

Hope that helps.

You can also force the game to play him at third by going into to strategy and selecting force him to play...it works rather well.

Just be forewarned he will NOT be good (at fielding)
