How to start a stats only league?
Do you have to leave ratings on for the initial draft and then go stats only from there on out? Do you turn ratings on for future first year player drafts?
Never spent enough time on this type of setup, what would I be in for?

You could simulate a few years and then take over whatever team you'd like. Use feeder leagues for future drafts.

You can start a game, sim a few years ahead, release all players for an inaugural draft, then wipe league history (which includes the stats you just used for drafting).
I think. |

It would seem you'd have to have ratings on for the inaugural draft, then switch to stats-only. Otherwise, since nobody yet would have any stats, you'd have no idea who to draft. If you go with 1-5 ratings, current only, no stars, then you're pretty close to a stats-only draft anyway.
I think. Last edited by 01010010; 04-30-2013 at 11:21 PM. Reason: add brilliant thought |

Set the league up with HS and college feeder leagues, no initial draft, all rstings off. Then sim the league for five years and after that start to play it normally and every draft class from then on will have stats to base your draft on.
Plus all the players now have five years of stats.

What Wolf and Oliver said. Remember, you can always erase your league's history if you're hesitant about taking over 5 years into the game.

I have come to really enjoy taking over five years into the league. In stats only, having that five years worth of stats makes a huge difference.
