Stephen Strasburg Military Service

I'm playing a dynasty under the current major league rules and I am in 2016. I recently signed Stephen Strasburg to a 5 Year $156 Million contract, and subsequently, traded one of my pitchers for prospects to save money because of the contract. Two days after he signed, I get an alert that says that Strasburg had suffered an injury and was out for twelve months. Need I remind you that this towards the end of December in the game. I go to check the player screen and it says that Strasburg is going to miss twelve months because he has decided to enter the military. While it is commendable that he is following in DiMaggio, Williams, and Bob Feller's footsteps in joining the military, he will be getting paid his full $31 million salary while he is in the military. The kid is a hero in my opinion, but it would have been nice if he made this patriotic gesture before I guaranteed him $31 Million plus a year. I was just wondering, has this happened to anyone else?
