Trying to get 162 game schedule - stuck at 150

Does adding a round to the playoffs cause the game to not be able to generate a 162 game regular season?

I keep getting 150 game seasons and the only thing I can think of that is causing it is that I have a (two team) 3-game play in series for the WC slot in a 3 Division league.

Yes, I verified that I had not touched the '162' setting on # of games in the League Setup last off-season. I don't force a 'start date' and don't have an all-star game scheduled.

Do you have "Use Balanced Schedule" checked?.....if not, you cannot get a properly generated schedule.....if you don't want a balanced schedule, you'll have to import one.....there is one available for most league setups.....

You won't get a balanced schedule if you have an uneven number of total teams in a subleague. Adding playoff games or allstar won't won't affect that..as the game knows the difference. regular season games are type 1, allstar are type 4, spring training are type 2 and playoffs are type 3.

Okay - so if I am understanding correctly:

According to Questdog -
1) Even tho I enter '162' in the correct spot, the actual number of games in a schedule is a crapshoot unless I also put a check mark in the 'balanced schedule' box. (Did I go to fast in the setup and miss that explanation on the screen?)

But
According to Bigrod -
2) I can't get a 'balanced schedule' regardless of what settings I choose, if I have an odd number of teams in a subleague.

So if I want a 162 game schedule (without searching/downloading/installing mods) I MUST have an even number of teams in each subleague and choose 'balanced schedule'?

Side note - I do thank the two posters for providing help!!

Well, my two cents isn't worth the whole two, to be honest, but I feel compelled to say I have never heard of such a thing. If it's scheduled for a 162 games, it should schedule a 162 games, odd league configurations excepted, but it should tell you that.

The autoscheduler only creates balanced schedules and if you don't check the box, it won't generate one, except during league creation when it WILL generate something, however, not usually something acceptable....

You may not have to search for an acceptable schedule;there may be one to fit your league already residing in your schedule folder....
