FL pre season predicitons
Well this isn't bad news. Predicting a blow out in the Midwest. HR title for Chavez? Predicted to score 1000+ runs with a sub 4 ERA. My 1-2's predicted to have great seasons. Arizona going to plummet that badly?

And in the Coastal..
Holy crap. Someone's not buying into the Colts 'rebuild' effort. And I'm going to do a little write up next, but check out Boston's prediction, 3.80, winning 94 and scoring just 804 runs. That organization may have drafted pitching better than any club in IBL history. Tulsa and Corpus Christi falling? Houston regaining prominence? A HR title for George Quinn and another enormous season out of Esparza.

A peek inside the Bombers "recipe for success"
This is a blueprint to building a world championship pitching staff.
They entered the league in 2017, and in their 1st draft, with their 1st pick, took LHP Pat Kelley (#1 overall). He went straight to the show and was 7-6 3.16 in 15 starts. He left via free agency this year but was 54-56 3.86 in 146 starts, going 17-8 3.80 in their championship season last year. In 2018 they picked 6th overall and took Lee Case out of Texas Tech. Case broke camp with the big club in 2019 and was 12-15 5.03 in 32 starts his rookie year. He missed all but 2 starts last season after having elbow surgery, but returns at 26 this year and will pitch in the 4 slot. In 2019 they picked 2nd overall, taking Cody Miller out of Horizon HS in San Diego, CA. He dominated the minors and was a September call up in 2020. He is 29-13 3.19 the past two seasons, going 14-8 3.01 last year in 34 starts. He's the ace and takes the ball opening day. In 2020 they picked 10th overall, selecting RHP Greg Dickson out of Ogden HS, Ogden, UT. If you don't feel like scrolling to the bottom of the previous page I'll save you the trouble, he's the 8th ranked prospect in the IBL. He's won 29 games in 2 minor league seasons, with a 2.47 ERA with 459 K's in 371 IP. He's starting the season on the Archer Bombers roster, Boston's AAA affiliate. In 2021 they picked 7th overall, selecting David Shields out of the University of Iowa. David entered the 2022 season as the IBL's #40 prospect before tearing a meniscus in June and missing 3 months. He begins the season as the Archer Bombers #2 starter, behind Greg Dickson. Last year they had their first 'bad' pick, selecting 27th overall. They took right hander Alfonso Pena out of Virginia. The 23 year old enters the 2023 season as the IBL's #75 prospect. He'll be the opening day starter for the Johnson Lane Bombers, Boston's AA affiliate. 6 picks, 6 starting pitchers, and to date 6 home runs. Now you add some cash, and smart choices, and smart trades, and their rise makes sense, total sense. Their rotation this year is: 1) Cody Miller (RHP) 23-#2 overall pick 2019, 2 time all star 2) Colin Durham (RHP) 31-Signed 5 year 88M dollar free agent deal 12/09/19 3) Adam Shirley (RHP) 23-120th overall pick in 2017 out of HS. 14-11 3.63 33 starts 211 IP in 2022 4) Lee Case (RHP) 26-#6 overall pick 2017, top 10 3 straight years in HR/9. 5) Eric Arnold (RHP) 28-Acquired from Chicago along with Vinicius Montaury and 4th pick, for C Alex Vela and LF Ramon Castro and 3rd pick. Draft, trades, free agency. There is no one way, any good GM knows it, and excelling in all three areas makes it very hard to fail. You've got 2 home grown 23 year olds and a 26 year old, and you've got 3 top prospects, close to IBL ready, waiting for an unfortunate injury, or for the 28 and 31 year old to move on or move out. Below are their rotations career numbers to date. |

How do they stack up?
A peek at that Boston rotation, compared to the staff we're breaking camp with.

Interested if you (curt) could direct me where you get the WAR gained and lost season overview chart that you found? is this a new feature or has it slipped past my noticing all this time?
Also, interested to see that division if Boston does indeed hold on |

War gain/loss
You can only find it in the off season. Once you hit opening day that screen will go away (I could be mistaken but I cannot find it at that point).
Under you league drop down you'll see an option for "Off Season Coverage" or something like that. When you go to that screen, check the upper left, below the page header, above the actual page, where all the tabs usually are, you'll see 2 tabs, one for the page you are on, and one to the right for the WAR page, can't remember its name. |

2023 Chicago Iron Pigs
A little different way to look at the team breaking camp. Very few new names, except for the fact Collins is out.
You will notice one "huge" difference this year.....Ya, 11 man pitching staff. It may only be for a week, could be more, going to depend on the innings I get from the rotation, but all the starters are guys that should, barring disaster, be able to get into the 7th pretty routinely. |

Martinez conundrum...
Roberto Martinez, 26 years old with a mid 90's fastball. The 2021 Koufax Award winner. A 3 time all star. Missed about 10 starts last year but the season was a wash when he did pitch. His peripherals weren't off, but the W/L and ERA was.
Coming in this year he was my 1A to Hall's 1. If you take his 22 starts last year, 10 this year, that's about a seasons worth of starts, 32. In his last 32 starts here's the line. 11-11 5.51 192.2 IP 204 H 28 HR's 59 BB 177 K's. That's a number 5 guy, if that. Certainly not on this staff. He's got a 10.8M club option for next year that, barring catastrophe, I pick up. But the next 20 or so starts are being made on the 'hope' that he finds his self and bounces back. |
