SP usage during playoffs

Does the AI still use their premier starting pitchers in meaningless games at the end of season instead of saving them for a playoff start. It has been discussed for several years, but it was in 13. Has this been remedied in 14?

Actually they didn't do it in 13, at least not so much. 13 is when Markus introduced the "sit for x days" option and it seems to work.

The ai should only use a 4 man rotation in playoffs. Not sure about them sitting their premier starters if they are already locked in for a playoff spot.

Well, it depends on your league setup, it's not programmed or pre-determined that a 4 man rotation will/should be used in the play-offs.

I believe it is programmed to use one less pitcher than the league average rotation size in the playoffs and one additional pitcher during spring training.

To the original question, I saw it happen quite a bit in 13. Don't know for sure if it was addressed or not.

And I thought I knew it all, but where can I find this option and what does it do?

Player profile --> Action --> Set Game Strategy

From here you can bench a player for a number of days (right bottom corner). Player will then not be used during those days. Works only for players on teams you control though. For AI controlled teams you have to be in Commish mode to do this.
