Seriously (no kidding) because everybody plays differently. That's the beauty of OOTP, you can customize it to almost anything.
I do it all the time, play in 2001 onward but use settings from the 30's or 40's. I like the numbers from those era's, but I also like some modern things too, so mixing it up works gr8 for me. |

Well for me wanting to do this is to keep foreign leagues several steps behind my major league.

How updated are the rosters? For example, I see Jose Valverde as a free agent still.

OOTP rosters are opening day rosters.

I think it is more important to see how the actual pitching staff is set up, because the way the team home page is laid out is based on the old way of setting up a staff, so the terms dont really translate.
Like right now, I don't have a closer, but I do have a guy called a 'stopper' (this is the 60s, we dont have closers yet), but on the team homepage, he is listed as the closer. That is just the way it is

Horrible update
I downloaded it, installed it over the file, and lost my league that I've had since OOTP 2012... Is there anything that I can do? No, I didn't back it up because its way too massive of a file to back up.

Don't see how that could have happened. I've never lost a league that way

If your on windows and depending on your settings....You might be able to get it back using a windows restore point.

No Restore point. And the league is still there, I'm still on the same date. But, the players names & ratings are entirely different.

I saw from a post on 4/18 you were looking to upgrade from v12. I take it you weree able to take your league from v12-->v13--v14 with no problems? If so you should have both a v12 and v13 copy of the league unless you deleted them. |

Can't tell ya why, but all I know is that I d/l this patch exactly as instructed to the game's directory. I opened up my league, and the names & ratings are all different, essentially destroying my league. I do have the older versions I can bring in again, but I'd lose a couple of seasons. I was hoping I could find a way to save it, ah well.

I'm curious at how the aging modifiers were changed. I assume default should be really good by now, but who knows.

Minor correction...the issue with the 2013-2014 offseason and 2013 contracts now only applies to a free agent draft during that offseason.
