Feeder League Talent

I know that Markus has already mentioned that tomorrow's patch will help with feeder league talent, but I was curious if anyone has been able to successfully use feeder leagues yet in OOPT14?

The overall talent in my feeders is pretty non-existant. It's to the point where the top pick in my draft has a potential of 1.5/5 stars. I've tried playing around with the PCMs but it still doesn't look right. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the exact issue that is going to be corrected with the next patch?

Either way, it's still a great game. Very happy with the new version.

I believe that is one of the things that is being addressed in the patch. I, and a few others, had tested and saw that feeder league players were not developing well. Will be interesting to see how it looks after the patch.

My high school feeder has players with decent potential but the college potential maxed at one star.

Still awaiting the patch before I start a serious game.

Wow! I haven't used feeders yet in this version, but if what I've read here is true, what a difference from previous versions. I have always found feeder leagues to be a bit overpowered in terms of the talent they produced, and now they're scrub farms? I guess things got thrown out of whack a bit when the player origin system was recoded. Hopefully, a happy medium will eventually be achieved to compliment the terrific new player origin system.

I'm currently doing a feeder league with College/HS and the feeder league talent is inconsistent. First year was top heavy, second year was outrageously excellent (upon further review though a lot of the "top prospects" flamed out) and the third- which I am editing to be better- is atrocious.

I hope the patch fixes this, but here's the question would it fix the game I'm already playing or would I have to start again.

And has anyone else had the problem where a player that SHOULD be in the draft class isn't? And he just remains a member of the team?

Anyway, I've seen good and bad classes, but with 72 "pages" of talent and only 5 or 6 players being of the 4 or 5 star variety something isn't right about that.

Thanks for the responses.

I had started to manually edit my draft pool but I was worried about messing something up down the line (too much talent, not a good distribution, etc)

Really excited for the patch now!

Are SP developing more than two pitches?

My concerns of the feeder leagues is less about how many potential 'stars' players having coming into the draft, I'm more looking at how they develop. For testing I sim ahead 30 years and then look at what percentage of the top talent in the majors is from my feeder league and what percentage is from other sources. In my tests for the initial release of v14 the top talented was weighted way to heavily towards international players, feeder players seemed to not quite make it. My understanding is that is one of the issues Marcus is addressing in the upcoming patch.

I haven't looked at the number of pitches feeder league players have but I will as part of my testing of the patch.

My understanding, I have no real inside info, is that the feeder league 'tweak' should affect new feeder league players but not ones already in the game.

That's fine with me as my game has already progressed with them though with the inconsistencies of how people are added and the talent depletion as of late I am concerned my league may be headed for a dry spell of talent...

Also I have not found a lot of SPs with only two pitchers many have 3, in my game that's actually been fairly consistent

Is anyone else having problems with people not "declaring" or not leaving when they should be?
